Our client located in Oklahoma
City, is filling a new Contract to Hire role for a SQL Server DBA. The
client needs someone with a solid practioner background in SQL Server
Production Support, Backup and Restore, SQL Performance Tuning and
Monitoring, and who has experience with DR/HA strategies. A background
in replication, clustering/mirroring strategies is also required. The
ideal candidate will already be performing as a Senior DBA, and will
have a background in Data Warehouse and ERP implementations as well.
The successful candidate will need to fit the following criteria to include:
Experience:5-8 years of experience with SQL Server 2000/2005/2008/2012.
Installation and configuration experience with SQL Server, SQL Server Service Packs and Cumulative Updates.
Knowledgeable in SQL server security, maintenance and monitoring.
Thorough understanding of relational database operations and maintenance.
Ability to use and support other applications and infrastructure technologies (3rd party backup software, monitoring tools and reporting solutions).
Familiarity with standard SQL tools.Must have a strong background in applications design, development and implementation with Relational Database Management Systems experience.
Experience with the Windows 2003/2008 operating systems including both Workstation and Server versions.
Experience with MS SQL Server 2005/2008, ADO and ADO.NET.
Experience maintaining High Availability databases (Clustering and Mirroring)
Previous experience in performance and tuning SQL applications.
Experience in the installation and configuration of Microsoft data access technologies for the server and Workstation.
Experience with change control management and interfaces for database and application migrations.
Exposure to best standard practices for database applications, vmWare virtualization and Windows administration in mission critical systems.
Strong working knowledge of remote data transfer applications and components.
Strong working knowledge with DTS and SSIS.
Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems components and utilities.
Strong working knowledge of PC hardware, peripherals and support requirements.
Experience with Client Server and n-tier environments and working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and network interface.
Working knowledge of Internet/Intranet network integration.
Familiar with Windows system administration functionality.
Technical understanding of Enterprise Computing and how various components are interrelated with the applications.
