The Bing Search Advertising Support (Ad Support) team within the $3B Microsoft Advertising business is looking for a talented and passionate Technical Support Engineer (TSE) who understands the meaning of world-class customer service and support!
Being a TSE is a unique role that requires a blend of keen business focus and deep technical skills. You will need to work closely with the advertising sales teams to understand advertiser issues and perform advanced technical troubleshooting, along with successfully partnering with our ad platform development team in cases where solving the advertiser problem requires a change to the platform. The suitable candidate will be focused on offering customised solutions to the business and create and maintain strong business relationships with all stakeholders, You will join a team that is focused on results, working together to solve problems and committed to developing people.
As a TSE, you will partner closely with Microsoft and Yahoo! online advertising teams across the globe. Your primary focus will be on supporting the suite of Bing Ads tools that generate all ads for Bing and other web properties such as Yahoo! The Advertising Support team - a global team comprised of 40+ talented Microsoft employees located in Dublin, Seattle and Singapore - plays a critical role in supporting the Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance. This is a major initiative between Microsoft and Yahoo! to create a competitive choice in Search Advertising for advertisers and consumers.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Troubleshoot issues with online content, publishing systems, APIs and related advertising tools
•Work with sales teams and partners to gather escalation information and customer/business impact
•Generate solutions or partner with Engineering and Product teams to create and release solutions for those issues Prioritise urgent escalations with business and R&D teams
•Manage workload to prioritize investigations, customer updates & timeliness to resolution
•Develop and maintain strong customer and internal partner relationships
•Compose timely world-wide alerts to sales teams and partners
•Create process or troubleshooting documentation in the support knowledge base
•Work with advertisers, agencies, & tool providers to integrate their advertising tools with Bing Ads & pubCenter APIs
•Coordinate with team members to manage daily team workload
•Create and run advanced SQL queries as part of troubleshooting
•Help foster innovation in tools and processes to make the team more effective and efficient.
Education and Experience
•Fluent in Portuguese (preferred) & English languages including strong written communication skills essential
•A BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline
•Experience working with sales teams or web based application end users in an account management capacity
•4+ years relevant experience, including work with web technologies such as XML, HTML, IIS, APIs, SOAP and desktop client software
•3+ years using SQL required with ability to manipulate data rapidly and use complex joins preferred
•Online industry experience strongly preferred
•Organic & Paid search experience preferred
•Experience of parsing & analysing log files preferred
•Experience of working with remote/virtual teams desired
•Some flexibility required around availability for work
