CANDIDATES REQUIRED:
General and Speciality Nurses
Criteria - Qualifications/Experience:
All nurses forwarded for recruitment must at least meet the following criteria:
1.Ideally candidate are to be currently working as a nurse in a
Hospital environment, in a position same or similar to the role for
which they are being recruited and have a minimum of 1.5 year’s post
graduate experience (greater period preferred) in nursing. However
subject to the acceptance of the client nurses with less experience or
even newly qualified nurses will be considered. Experience criteria will
be defined by SWIL on a case by case basis subject to the client’s
specification.
2.Hold one of the following qualification.
a. Portuguese – Hold the one of the following qualifications gained after January 1986:
I. Diploma do curso de enfermagem Geral
II. Diploma/carta de curso de bacharelato em enfermagem
III. Carta de curso de licenciatura em Enfermagem
3. English Language:
a. Have a good command of the English language (spoken, written,
understanding & reading). Preferably be of B2 to C2 standard in the
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The nurse’s
comprehension of English and their spoken and written English must be of
an acceptable standard for them to work in an English speaking
environment. They must be able to carry out such activities as
communicating with patients, clients and colleagues, writing and keeping
patients’ notes and records in such a way that they could be used as
evidence in any legal proceedings. Explaining patient’s condition and
interests to other health care practitioners, keeping up-to-date with
relevant research.
4. NMC Registration
a. Be ultimately fully eligible for FULL registration with the UK
Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and obtain PIN number before
commencement of the employment.
5. Understand and accept to work in the UK for at least 2 years.
6. Have no past history that would make the candidate unsuitable to
work with the elderly. Police check would be required before taking up
positions.
1.As only single status accommodation will be arranged (paid for by
the nurse), ideally the candidate would come to the UK alone. However
once established and able to support dependant’s husbands/wives/children
could follow subject to the necessary approval of the UK authorities.
