J175. Experienced Structural Engineer

Applied Technologies, Inc. (ATI) is a multi-discipline consulting engineering/architectural firm providing technical services to industries and municipalities. ATI was established in 1986 and has grown to include 40 employees and more than 20 engineers and architects. We currently have an opening for an experienced Structural Engineer in our growing Structural Engineering Department. Specifics of this role include the following:

• Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed structural design and analysis of existing bridges using pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete ,structural steel and timber
• Structural design and analysis of new and existing buildings, foundations, large hydraulic structures, and tanks using concrete, steel, wood and masonry
• Oversee creation of construction drawings and specifications
• Load evaluations of existing structures ranging in age and complexity
• Project  and client management
• Technical report creation using Microsoft Word

The right candidate will possess the following:

• Proficient use of Visual Analysis or similar analysis software program, Excel and MathCAD for the analysis and design of structures and AutoCAD
• Excellent communication and technical skills necessary to work well with all departments across our organization and to develop good client relationships
• B.S. degree plus 5-10 years of experience in the structural design and analysis of bridges
• P.E. certification, or the willingness to attain it as soon as possible
• Familiarity with IBC,AASHTO and material codes
